Gibson is, so to speak, the king of the guitar world, having produced countless legendary instruments.

It is loved by countless top artists, including Angus Young, Tony Iommi, and Shinji Wajima.

The SG, introduced in 1961, instantly captivated many guitarists and continues to be a mainstay of the rock scene today.

While Gibson is best known for the Les Paul, the SG has established a solid reputation as a model with a more aggressive and sharp sound, as well as exceptional playability.

This instrument is a 1961 SG Standard Reissue crafted by the Gibson Custom Shop.

The Custom Shop is a special manufacturing division established to meet the exacting demands of artists and leading dealers.

The instruments produced here, through the advanced craftsmanship of skilled artisans and rigorous quality control, are highly regarded by players worldwide.

Furthermore, this instrument is a Murphy Lab model.

Murphy Lab is Gibson’s premier aging division, inheriting the philosophy and techniques of master luthier Tom Murphy to recreate the character and patina of vintage guitars.

The body and neck are made of mahogany, with a rosewood fingerboard—a classic combination.

The body is finished in a beautiful Antique Pelham Blue color and features a Light Aged treatment, giving it a remarkably distinguished and attractive appearance.

With a thin, lightweight body and a double cutaway design that allows easy access to the top fret, it boasts exceptional playability among electric guitars.

The neck shape features the 1960 Slim Taper. It is relatively thin and easy to grip, making it comfortable for technical playing.

It is equipped with two Gibson Custom Buckers.

The sound is captivating, combining a dry midrange, sharp attack, and the characteristic SG blend of raw power and sweetness.

The bridge features a Tune-O-Matic paired with a Stop Tailpiece.

While this configuration differs slightly from the original 1961 specifications, it is a practical setup that accommodates a wide range of playing styles.

Handcrafted using an abundance of high-quality Custom Shop-grade wood, this is Gibson’s top-of-the-line model where you can truly feel the spirit of the craftsman.

Why not take advantage of this opportunity?

Approximately 80% of the frets remain.
The truss rod and neck are in good condition.
The body and finish have been aged, making it difficult to distinguish between original wear and scratches, but there are likely fine dents scattered throughout the body that were likely added later.
The electronics are in good condition.
