Gibson is, so to speak, the king of the guitar world, having produced countless legendary instruments.

It is loved by countless top artists, including Angus Young, Tony Iommi, and Shinji Wajima.

The SG, introduced in 1961, instantly captivated many guitarists and continues to be a mainstay of the rock scene today.

While Gibson is home to the Les Paul—a masterpiece of rock guitars—the SG is characterized by its crystal-clear tone in comparison.

If the Les Paul has a rich, full sound, the SG could be described as having a sharp, piercing tone.

This instrument is a limited-edition model released in 2007 as the 38th installment of Gibson USA’s “Guitar of the Week” series.

With split diamond inlays on the headstock, block position inlays, an ebony fingerboard, and gold hardware, its luxurious appearance is reminiscent of the SG Custom. At the same time, it incorporates two humbuckers, a stop tailpiece, and a Tune-O-Matic bridge, combining the practicality of a standard model.

The body and neck are made of mahogany, while the fingerboard is ebony.

With its thin, lightweight body and double cutaway design that allows easy access to the top fret, it offers some of the best playability among electric guitars.

The finish is Antique Dark Cherry, designed to evoke the look of aged Cherry Red. Paired with a large white pickguard, this combination creates a distinctive presence unique to this model.

It is equipped with ’57 Classic and ’57 Classic Plus pickups.

The ’57 Classic is a long-standing Gibson bestseller that has been beloved for many years as a replica of the humbucking pickup developed by Seth Lover, commonly known as the PAF.

It is characterized by a powerful sound that firmly emphasizes a full-bodied midrange.
