This is a special guitar custom-ordered by TONIQ.
The XSC series is inspired by the traditional double-cutaway guitar style, but incorporates modern elements throughout.
It is handmade in California by artisans using high-grade woods.
The body is made of ash.
It has an extremely thin black nitrocellulose lacquer finish.
The hardware is gold, which complements the black body for a cool finish.
The realistic medium-aged finish on the body gives it an old-fashioned look.
The neck is made of 4A-grade roasted maple.
Roasted maple is a wood that is treated at high temperatures to evaporate moisture and oils, resulting in excellent stability.
Originally a building material used in Finnish saunas, it is particularly resistant to high temperatures and humidity.
Not only is it practical, but the beautiful grain unique to 4A grade wood is also very appealing.
A rosewood fingerboard was specified.
The deep black rosewood used is a testament to the carefully selected wood.
The pickups are hand-wound Raw Vintage RV60s in the neck and middle positions.
A hand-wound Raw Vintage RV-PAF is installed in the bridge position, creating an SSH pickup layout that is versatile across genres.
The neck middle position produces a brilliant yet rich sound, while the bridge position produces a clear and warm sound.
Other features include a GOTOH 6-point tremolo unit and locking tuning machines, Raw Vintage tremolo springs and saddles, and JESCAR frets, making the hardware impeccable.
For this order, we went for an ash body with a rosewood fingerboard, which is typical of components.
The gold accents are complemented by a black body and a deep rosewood fingerboard, and a tortoiseshell pickguard completes the gorgeous look.
