The body is made of thermo alder, the neck is made of thermo maple, and the fingerboard is made of rosewood.
The thermowood used for the body and neck was pioneered in the musical instrument industry by the Japanese company Sago, and was originally used in Finland as a building material for saunas.
Thermowood is prized for its resistance to high temperatures and humidity, and its usefulness for musical instruments is evident from its use by top manufacturers such as Sadowsky and Suhr.
Apparently, a certain amount of Thermowood is discarded during the processing process.
Presumably, instruments that will eventually warp will also be played here.
