This special model combines the body of a Fender Custom Shop Ikebe 40th Anniversary 1958 Stratocaster with a neck from YGK (Yamazaki Guitar Workshop), crafting a variety of parts for a truly special guitar.
The body is made of alder.
The alder is a high-quality wood hand-selected in collaboration with Fender Master Builder Greg Fessler.
It was shipped in NOS spec, but now shows signs of weather checking and the brown color has faded. It's unclear whether this is due to aging or processing, but it exudes an old-fashioned character.
It was impossible to determine whether this is due to aging or processing.
The neck was custom-made by Yamazaki Guitar Workshop.
The wood is maple, and the fingerboard is rosewood.
According to the previous owner, the rosewood on the fingerboard is Jacaranda, and the grain appears to be Jacaranda, but we're not sure.
The neck grip has an extremely fat shape, reminiscent of a baseball bat neck.
The pickups are specially hand-wound based on the Custom Shop Fat '50s Strat.
The winding was done by Josefina Campos.
Josefina Campos is known as the successor to legendary pickup winder Abigail Ybarra, and is one of the few people to have directly inherited her techniques.
The pickups she winds are highly regarded for their vintage-feel tone and special feel.
The sound is well-balanced, with great clarity and depth, truly unique to hand-wound guitars.
In addition, this guitar's Tone 2 is a push-push pot, allowing the neck pickup to be always on.
This results in a guitar with a traditional look but a wide range of sound variations.
The bridge is equipped with Fender's synchronized tremolo unit.
The joint plate, one tremolo spring, and spring hanger have all been replaced with titanium, showing the previous owner's attention to detail.
This is a meticulously crafted guitar, assembled from high-quality materials and high-grade parts.
Why not take advantage of this opportunity?
Approximately 80% of the frets remain.
The truss rod is loose but can still move about 90 degrees.
The neck is in good condition.
The body and paint show signs of weather checking, dents, and scratches overall, and the paint has lost its luster.
The body is faded.
Metal parts such as the jack, neck plate, tuning machines, and strap pins are dull, and the pickguard is burnt and discolored.
There is a large dent near the bridge.
There are scratches near the endpin on the back of the body, a jig hole near the neck plate, and on the headstock near the 1st-string tuning machine post.
The screw hole positions have been changed when the pickguard was replaced. The original holes have been filled, but the finish is not very clean.
The electrical system is in good condition.
The pickguard, joint plate, center tremolo spring, and spring hanger have been replaced.
