This is a special guitar custom-ordered by TONIQ.
The XSC series is based on the traditional double-cutaway guitar style, but is an ambitious design that incorporates modern elements throughout.
It is handmade in California by artisans using high-grade wood.
The body is made of alder.
It has an extremely thin finish using nitrocellulose lacquer.
The finish is a multi-layer design, with Shoreline Gold sprayed over Desert Sand.
Although it is multi-layered, it is intentionally light-aged, allowing the base color to gradually reveal itself over time.
This is a guitar that you will enjoy watching as its character changes the longer you own it and play it.
The neck is made of 4A-grade Roasted Maple.
Roasted maple is a wood that achieves great stability by being treated at high temperatures, which evaporates the moisture and oils within the wood.
Originally a building material for Finnish saunas, it is particularly resistant to high temperatures and humidity.
Not only is it practical, but the beautiful grain that is unique to 4A grade wood is also very appealing.
We specified rosewood for the fingerboard.
The deep black rosewood used is a testament to the carefully selected wood.
The pickups are hand-wound Raw Vintage RV60s.
