Gibson is, so to speak, the king of the guitar world, having produced countless legendary instruments.

It is beloved by countless top artists, including Jimmy Page, Slash, and Zakk Wylde.

The Les Paul model, released by Gibson in 1952, was the company’s first solid-body guitar and debuted as a signature model for the American guitarist Les Paul.

The Les Paul’s signature fat tone and long sustain have been cherished by countless artists, and it has enriched the music scene across various genres from its debut to the present day.

It can truly be called the quintessential electric guitar.

This model is a 1978 “The Paul.”

While carrying on the Les Paul tradition, this model features a simpler, more practical design, and this particular 1978 example is a guitar that commands significant attention even among vintage Gibsons today.

The body and neck are made of walnut, and the fingerboard is ebony.

It features a wood configuration and a simple appearance that differ from the standard Les Paul.

Thanks to its design, which minimizes ornate embellishments, you can fully appreciate the natural texture of the wood and the distinctive Gibson presence.

It is equipped with engraved, numbered PAF pickups.

It is characterized by a fat and powerful sound.

In clean mode, it delivers rich mid-low frequencies and a lustrous tone; when driven, it produces a powerful, well-defined sound, making it versatile across a wide range of genres, including rock.

This is a true gem, possessing a unique presence not found in current models, along with the distinctive character only a vintage instrument with many years of history can offer.

We highly recommend this guitar not only to those seeking a Gibson with a different flavor from the Les Paul, but also to collectors looking to add a distinctive 1970s Gibson model to their collection.

Approximately 70% of the frets remain.
The truss rod is slightly loose, but we have confirmed it moves through approximately 90 degrees.
The neck is in good condition.
The body and finish show general wear and dents consistent with its age. There is a linear scratch near the jack on the side of the body, and numerous dents near the lower strap pin. There are signs of repair for a chip in the wood on the lower back of the body, and paint peeling near the contour. There is paint chipping on the fingerboard at the 1st fret on the G-string side, and numerous dents on the top of the headstock. Additionally, there are signs of repair around the rod cover screw holes.

In terms of playability, there is a dead spot at the 21st fret. Also, the nut grooves are shallow, causing buzzing when the 1st string is played open.

The frets show general wear, and there are areas where the 1st string gets caught, particularly on the 1st string side. Currently, by setting the string height on the 1st string side to approximately 2.1 mm, the string catching can be minimized, allowing the guitar to be played without major issues.

The electronics are in good condition.
The jack has been replaced.

Controls: 2 volume, 2 tone, 3-way toggle switch
Nut width: 43 mm
String spacing at the bridge: 10 mm
Scale length: 24.75 inches
