| Maton is a brand founded by jazz musician and luthier Bill May. Many artists, including Tommy Emmanuel, Eric Johnson, and Joe Robinson, use Maton guitars. This model is the "SRS808" from the Solid Road Series. It's an electric-acoustic guitar that combines ease of handling with a rich sound, thanks to its compact 808 body. The body features a spruce top and blackwood sides and back. It boasts clear, responsive highs and rich lows, producing a surprisingly full sound for its size. The bracing utilizes Maton's unique scalloped X-bracing. The placement and carving of the X-bracing are carefully designed to enhance the vibration of the top wood, achieving both rich lows and clearly defined highs. Furthermore, it's equipped with the AP5-Pro pickup system, making it suitable for live performances and recordings using amplifiers and PA systems. This guitar boasts excellent handling thanks to its compact body, combined with rich volume and clear sound. The truss rod and neck are in good condition. There is some lifting of the top. The current string height is 2.1mm on the 6th string and 1.6mm on the 1st string. The body and paintwork have numerous dents throughout. There is a dent at the 9th fret of the neck. The headstock has dents on the top and tarnishing on the metal parts. The electronics are in good condition. The nut has been replaced and is not glued in place.
