| Pensa Suhr is an original brand of Rudy's, a guitar shop in New York. Rudy's has produced many renowned builders, including John Suhr, Stephan Marchione, Mas Hino, and Jimmy Coppolo, all of whom worked at Rudy's. (Titles omitted) Later, Pensa Suhr changed its brand name to Pensa Custom. While Pensa Custom also boasts excellent quality, many still seek out Pensa Suhr. This model is a custom-made TL replica. TL-type guitars are rarely seen on the market, making this one extremely rare. Notably, it bears the Tom Anderson stamp on the body and neck. At the time, Tom Anderson supplied pre-processed bodies and necks to builders who didn't have their own woodworking shops, and this instrument is one of those valuable pieces. It has a very interesting background when discussing the current high-end guitar scene. The body is made of quilt maple with a beautiful grain. Quilt Maple, usually used as a top wood, is used throughout the entire body of this guitar, giving it a truly impressive presence. The beauty of the top wood is a hallmark of Pensa guitars, and its high grade is evident. Although it has a single-cutaway design, it features a back contour and elbow contour, resulting in a comfortable fit. The neck is made of maple, and the fingerboard is rosewood. It boasts an exquisite grip shape that naturally fits the hand, and comfortable playability thanks to the thicker frets. According to the previous owner, the pickups have been replaced with EMGs. The neck and middle pickups are single-coils, and the bridge pickup is an EMG-89. It has a sparkling high-frequency range without being harsh on the ears, and the rich mid-range and tight low-end are beautifully harmonized. It can handle a wide range of genres, from clean to high-gain. Furthermore, three mini-switches allow you to individually turn each pickup on and off. This allows for a wide variety of sounds, including turning on all pickups or combining the neck and bridge pickups like a Telecaster. In addition, it features a coil-tap function for the bridge pickup, allowing for an even wider range of tonal possibilities. The bridge is a Floyd Rose Locking Tremolo. This minimizes tuning instability while enabling dynamic tremolo action. Vibrato applied with the left hand offers a different nuance to the sound, covering everything from delicate to passionate vibrato, further expanding the range of expression. With its luxurious specifications that are unthinkable today, this is a historical instrument that strongly retains the atmosphere of the early days of high-end guitars. The body and paintwork have minor dents, scratches, and linear scratches overall. There are scratches on the back of the body. The metal parts are tarnished.
