John Suhr, the founder of Suhr, began his career at the renowned New York shop Rudy’s and earned high acclaim for his work designing amplifiers at CAE and as a master builder at Fender.

This model, from Suhr Guitars—a brand known for its expertise in modern guitar craftsmanship—features a relatively classic style and can be described as “modern vintage.”

It features a traditional combination of an alder body back, a maple neck, and a rosewood fingerboard.

The stylish body is finished in Dakota Red, and the pickguard has been replaced with a pearl-patterned one, giving it a luxurious, high-end look.

The fingerboard radius is finished with a 10–14-inch compound radius.

A compound radius features a rounded fingerboard shape in the lower positions and a flatter shape in the higher positions.

Generally, while a rounded fingerboard radius offers good playability, it is prone to muffled tones in the higher positions.

The compound radius solves this issue.

The neck shape is the classic Even C Slim, and it features jumbo-sized stainless steel frets.

The pickups feature V60s in the neck and middle positions and an Asatobucker in the bridge position, arranged in an SSH configuration.
