| Tokai is a guitar brand that has been active since the early days of guitar making in Japan. Its high quality is still highly regarded today, captivating many guitarists. This model is from Tokai's flagship LS series. It is likely an LS-101F, but a precise determination could not be made. As you can see, it is modeled after a Les Paul Standard from the late 1950s. The body back is mahogany, and the top is maple—a classic combination. The combination of a flame top and sunburst color creates a beautiful look that is unmistakably Les Paul. The neck is mahogany, and the fingerboard is rosewood—a traditional combination. The neck grip has an asymmetrical shape, giving it relatively high playability among Les Paul-type guitars. The pickups are Bare Knuckle, used in the neck and bridge. They are modeled after the PAF pickups from late 1959, and are characterized by a sweet, thick, vintage-like sound. The body and paintwork have overall scratches and dents. The electronics are in good condition. The pickups, strap pins, and capacitors have been replaced.
