| Yamaha has been a pillar of the Japanese guitar industry since its early days, essentially the "Gibson of Japan." This model is a signature model for Issei Noro, guitarist of Casiopea, one of Japan's leading fusion bands. While based on Yamaha's flagship SG model, it boasts a slightly smaller body shape, star-shaped fretboard inlays, and white plastic parts, resulting in a highly original design. The body back is mahogany, and the top is maple. Although it appears to be a solid-body guitar at first glance, the interior is a semi-hollow structure, producing a sound that combines thickness and tightness. The neck is a three-piece construction of maple and mahogany, with an ebony fretboard and a neck-through joint. The pickups are Yamaha's original Spinex humbuckers and original single-coil pickups in an HSH configuration. Spinex is said to be the third magnet after Alnico and Ceramic, and is characterized by its hard, crisp sound. The humbucker pickups can be coil-tapped by pulling up the tone pot. Enjoy both a thick humbucker sound and a sparkling single-coil sound. Furthermore, the single-coil in the middle position can be independently switched on and off. The rich variety of sounds, almost unbelievable for a single guitar, is a major attraction. The bridge is equipped with a Yamaha original locking tremolo. The unit's range of motion can be changed, making it an innovative tremolo unit that allows you to switch between floating and fixed settings depending on your playing style. While locking tremolos can be a bit cumbersome to change strings with, this one allows you to change strings without cutting the ball end. This is a rare model that doesn't come around often. The body and paint surface have dents, scratches, and linear scratches overall. Additionally, some tarnishing and rust are visible on the metal parts. There are paint cracks on the body back and headstock top, but none have reached the wood. The electronics are in good condition. No obvious modifications were observed.
