Stem is a brand produced by Sago New Material Guitars, a handmade brand based in the Kansai region.
Its line lies somewhere between Sago, which specializes in custom-made guitars, and Seed, which maintains costs by producing overseas while maintaining excellent quality control.
They are known for producing models that convey the high quality of Sago, while keeping costs down by fixing the specs and shape.
This model is the original Sonia.
It is an ambitious piece that takes its inspiration from the traditional Stratocaster, incorporating innovative ideas throughout.
This particular guitar is a show model that was exhibited at YOKOHAMA MUSIC STYLE 2025.
The body is made of alder, the neck is hard maple, and the fingerboard is rosewood, a traditional combination.
The body, pickguard, and headstock are all unified in black, giving it a very cool look.
Furthermore, the bold, realistic aged finish applied throughout creates an old-fashioned look.
The body shape is slightly smaller than a traditional Stratocaster, with a slightly slanted design for a better fit when held in position.
The pickups are L(x) ST-Lite in the neck and middle positions, and an L(x) HB-Lite in the bridge position.
It covers a wide range of tones, from bright and crisp to powerful and fat.
The middle pickup is also uniquely positioned slightly closer to the bridge.
This allows the SSH layout to produce an edgy sound similar to a single rear pickup.
Furthermore, when using the neck and middle pickups for half-tone tuning, the distance created allows you to enjoy a more three-dimensional sound.

- Only the original purchaser from a GIB or TONIQ store or online shop is eligible.
- Please be aware that shipping and other related costs are the responsibility of the purchaser.
● Repurchase Price Guarantee
If you sell your instrument within six months of purchase, we will guarantee a full repurchase price. This guarantee applies to 50% of the purchase price for new instruments and 70% of the purchase price for used instruments.
● Defect Guarantee
All products sold by Basic Co., Ltd. are guaranteed against defects. With the exception of some consignment items, we will provide free repairs (and refunds only if repairs are not possible) for any malfunctions that occur during normal use within the warranty period from the date of purchase.
The warranty period is three months for used instruments and one year for new instruments.
Please note that even within the warranty period, there will be a fee for repairs in the following cases.
- Breakdowns or damage caused by transportation, movement, dropping, etc.
- Replacement of consumables.
- Breakdowns or damage caused by fire, earthquake, salt damage, gas damage, or abnormal voltage.
- Breakdowns or damage caused by handling that violates the precautions in the instruction manual.
- Breakdowns or damage caused by parts repaired or modified by parties other than our company.
- If the name, model name, serial number, etc. are not written on the warranty card, or if the wording has been altered.
- If the warranty card is not presented or is lost.
