This model is from the mid-range S2 series, introduced in 2013.
Although it is categorized as a mid-range model, it is made in the USA using the same woods as the Core and bolt-on models.
Compared to the Core model, it features a more subdued wood grain on the top and a scarf-jointed neck, allowing for cost savings while maintaining the high quality you expect from an American-made guitar.
In addition, as of 2024, the S2 series will be equipped with American-made pickups and electronics, just like the Core series.
This brings the specs closer to those of the Core series, making it a significant upgrade.
