Roasted maple is a wood that is strengthened by treating it at artificially high temperatures.
Furthermore, many woods that may develop warping in the future will twist during this treatment, and are generally not used in products.
These advantages of using roasted maple for the neck are its extremely stable construction.
The frets are made with Jescar jumbo-sized stainless steel frets.
They remain virtually tarnished no matter how much you play them, and their hardness minimizes wear.
Personally, I feel they are an excellent match for this type of high-performance guitar. (The sonic characteristics of stainless steel frets seem less likely to negatively affect the sound.)
The bridge is the T1802, a custom-tailored version of GOTOH's flagship 510 series guitar, custom-made for Ibanez.
In addition to smooth bending thanks to the tremolo unit, the hard titanium saddles and steel inertia blocks produce a sustained sound.
The pickups are Seymour Duncan Hyperion.
This is an AZ-exclusive model developed in collaboration with Ibanez.
The gain is not excessive, and the emphasis is on quick response and overall balance.
Controls include a pickup selector, volume, tone, and a special switching system.
This switch differs from a tap switch in that it uses one coil as a single coil while making good use of the other's low range, producing clearer highs and fatter lows than a regular tap.
The body shape is an adaptation of a traditional Stratocaster, and many guitarists will find it familiar.
The fret treatment, neck precision, and body balance are all excellent, so there is no need to worry about playability with this model, at least.
There is almost no fret wear, and the neck, including the truss rod, is in excellent condition.
The body is in pristine condition, with barely any scratches, and the vinyl back panel has not yet been peeled off.
