dragonfly offers several models, but this one is the CL-HST, reminiscent of a high-end component guitar.
The CL-HST follows on from the HI STA, released by dragonfly in 1999, and is attractive for its compact, easy-to-handle form, high playability, and wide range of sound variations.
The body is made of ash.
Finished with a see-through Turquoise finish that brings out the ash grain, and combined with the pearlescent pickguard, it has a cool look.
The neck is made of hard maple and the fingerboard is maple.
The neck shape is a thin U, and the fingerboard radius is 400mm, providing an extremely smooth playing feel.
The frets are #214 silver nickel.
While the HI STA was made of stainless steel, this model is made of silver nickel, for a slightly more traditional feel.
The pickups are the newly developed dfs-7/dfs-7R/dfh-7B.
They are characterized by a fast attack and a sharp, well-balanced sound.
The pickup layout is SSH, with high and low pass filters and a mini switch to add a neck pickup.
This allows for a wide range of sound variations, allowing you to cover a variety of genres with just one guitar.
The hardware is also impeccable, with Gotoh locking tuning machines and a Gotoh two-point tremolo bridge.
