J.W. Black is a former Fender master builder who continues to craft exquisite guitars and basses even after going independent.
He began his career in the '70s, working for Sadowsky, Rudy's, Fender, and others, as well as repairing vintage guitars as a freelancer (he worked on guitars for Frank Zappa and Eric Clapton, among others), before launching his own eponymous brand.
This model is based on his concept, but is manufactured in Japan for a cost-effective price.
This hybrid model is the ultimate Telecaster envisioned by Fender's top craftsman, J.W. Black, but produced by a Japanese guitar brand.
The body is made of ash.
The beautiful finish, finished in a see-through blonde color that shows off the ash grain, gives it a beautiful look.
The neck and fingerboard are maple.
The neck shape is slightly thicker.
The frets and fingerboard edges are carefully finished, providing a comfortable grip without making you feel it.
Equipped with two original single-coil pickups.
It features a brilliant, edgy sound.
While packed with classic Telecaster elements, it also offers high playability and a hot sound ideal for modern musicians.
Approximately 80% of the frets remain.
The truss rod and neck are in good condition.
Some tarnishing can be seen on the metal parts of the body and paint.
There is a dent on the bottom of the body top, and dents can also be seen near the side strap pin, elbow, endpin, and jack.
The back of the body is dotted with small dents, with the dent in the cutaway area on the 1st string being particularly noticeable.
There is also a dent near the volute on the back of the neck, and dents can be seen on the headstock near the 1st and 5th string tuning machine posts.
The electrical system is in good condition.
No obvious modifications were found.
