| Knaggs Guitars is an American high-end guitar brand founded in 2009 by Joe Knaggs and Peter Wolf. It's known for being used by many guitarists, including Steve Stevens, Larry Mitchell, Billy Morrison, Tsuyoshi Ima, and Akira (UVERworld). Based on years of accumulated woodworking skills and guitar design know-how, Knaggs employs unique body shapes, hardware, and set-neck constructions. While respecting traditional guitar styles, it fuses modern playability with Knaggs' distinctive design philosophy. This time, TONIQ directly ordered from Knaggs Guitars and selected several models. This is the Keya-J, a simplified version based on the Keya. The Keya is a representative model that features a double-cutaway design and a thin body shape, making it lightweight and easy to handle. The body is made of mahogany. The Ferrari Red gloss finish, flat top, and black pickguard give this guitar a somewhat retro feel. The neck is made of mahogany, and the fingerboard is made of Indian rosewood. With its slim 85 neck shape, 24.75-inch scale length, and 12-inch fingerboard radius, it offers a slightly modern playability. The finish around the neck is superb, with a feel that instantly becomes familiar the moment you place your hand on it. One of Knaggs' key features is its set-neck joint. By carefully joining the body and neck, string vibrations are efficiently transmitted to the body, producing rich harmonics and long sustain. When you actually hold it, you'll feel that Knaggs is not just a brand that uses expensive wood, but a brand that truly excels in craftsmanship and meticulous finishing. It is equipped with two Seymour Duncan P90 pickups. The combination of a high-quality mahogany body and P90 pickups creates a rich, straightforward sound. The bridge features Knaggs' uniquely designed "Influence Bridge." This integrated brass bridge and tailpiece design ensures a wide contact surface with the body, directly transmitting string vibrations. Despite its simple structure, it also supports octave adjustment, demonstrating Knaggs' original hardware design that firmly captures string vibrations while prioritizing practicality. This Keya-J, a special TONIQ order item, fully embodies the charm of Knaggs Guitars' long-cultivated wood selection, woodworking techniques, hardware design, and Joe Knaggs' design philosophy.
