| Taylor, alongside Martin, is a giant in the world of acoustic guitars, leading the way globally. It's a favorite among numerous artists, including Christopher Cross, Tony Iommi, John Petrucci, and MIYAVI. Taylor combines cutting-edge technology with masterful craftsmanship to continuously produce innovative guitars, achieving the No. 1 selling acoustic guitar brand in the US in 2014. While most acoustic guitars use a set-neck joint, Taylor guitars employ a detachable design called the NT (New Technology) neck joint. Furthermore, a wooden spacer called a shim is inserted between the body and neck, allowing for adjustment of the neck angle by changing the shim's thickness. This makes it possible to lower the string height without sanding the bridge saddle. Beyond this, Taylor guitars incorporate numerous innovative ideas, such as a UV finish that is resistant to aging, durable, and allows for thin application, and a unique pickup system that naturally reproduces the guitar's inherent resonance. This model is the GS mini, a scaled-down version of Taylor's iconic Grand Symphony shape. The GS mini is considered the model that popularized small-sized guitars, and since its introduction in 2010, it has been a hugely popular model, with hundreds of thousands of units shipped worldwide. Its size is smaller than a regular guitar, but larger than a mini guitar, making it an intermediate size. This results in a well-balanced design that is easy to handle while not sacrificing a full-fledged acoustic sound. While small-sized guitars are often prone to a lack of bass due to their construction, this model mitigates this issue by employing a round-back structure. The GS-Mini-e adds a pickup system to the GS Mini, making it even more versatile. As a Special Edition, it is a rare model with only 40 units produced domestically. The body top is made of solid Sitka Spruce. This is a standard wood used by famous brands such as Gibson and Martin in their standard models. The top is finished in a beautiful Sunset Fade color. The sides and back are made of sapele, the neck is mahogany, and the fingerboard is ebony. The scale length is 23.5 inches, and the neck shape is slim, making it highly playable and suitable for a variety of players. The electronics feature the ES-B, which incorporates elements of the Expression System 2 (ES-2) found in Taylor's higher-end models. Instead of placing the piezo element under the bridge saddle, the sensors are arranged behind the bridge saddle, allowing for a natural output of the guitar's inherent resonance. This is especially useful when playing at high volume through an amplifier. It boasts a surprisingly powerful sound for its small body. Recommended for beginners, those looking for a second guitar, for outdoor use, songwriting, stage performances, and as a first acoustic guitar for electric guitarists.
