| Cole Clark is a brand that started manufacturing acoustic guitars in 2001 at its workshop in Melbourne, Australia. It is favored by renowned artists such as Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, and John Butler. (Titles omitted) This particular instrument is the FL1E-BM from the "Fat Lady" series. The body top is made of solid bunya wood from Australia, while the sides, back, and neck are made of Queensland maple. The finish is natural satin nitrocellulose, the tuning machines are Grover, the nut and saddle are Graph Tech TUSQ, the nut width is 44mm, and the scale length is 25.5 inches. The most distinctive feature of this instrument is its neck construction. While typical guitars attach the neck to the body after assembly using bolts or dovetails, Cole Clark employs a Spanish heel construction where the neck is glued together with the top, sides, and back. This seamless connection of the neck to the soundhole contributes to its unique sound. Furthermore, the top and back feature a curved structure carved from the inside, and instead of lining, a unique ridge system is used for joining them to the sides. The pickup system is Cole Clark's unique 3-way pickup system, combining a face sensor, microphone, and piezo under the bridge saddle. This allows for the reproduction of the natural resonance inherent in an acoustic guitar, even in live performances. The sound has a bright and open character, with a quick attack and rich low to mid-low frequencies, making it suitable for a wide range of playing styles. The frets have approximately 80% remaining. The truss rod is in good condition. The neck is in good condition. The current string height is 2.0mm on the 6th string side and 1.7mm on the 1st string side. The body and paintwork have fine scratches overall. The body top has a dent on the lower part of the 1st string side, and there are linear scratches on the pickguard. The body side has a dent on the lower part of the 1st string side and linear scratches on the upper part of the 1st string side. The body back shows signs of use near the joint and has a dent on the lower part of the 6th string side. The electronics are in good condition. No obvious modifications were observed.
