Gibson is the king of the guitar world, having produced countless legendary instruments.
It is beloved by countless top artists, including Jimmy Page, Slash, and Zakk Wylde.
The Les Paul model, released by Gibson in 1952, was Gibson's first solid-body guitar and debuted as the signature model for American guitarist Les Paul.
The Les Paul's signature fat tone and long sustain have been cherished by countless artists, enriching music scenes across various genres from its debut to the present day.
It truly represents the quintessential electric guitar model.
This is a Custom Shop model.
The Custom Shop is a specialized manufacturing division created to fulfill custom orders.
It produces exceptional guitars using advanced craftsmanship to meet the demands of professional artists and guitar dealers.
Its high quality is highly regarded by artists worldwide.
This model is the signature guitar of Tak Matsumoto (B'z), Japan's world-renowned rock guitarist.
It is a 2018 reissue of the “Tak Matsumoto Les Paul Standard Canary Yellow,” which debuted in 1999 as Gibson's first Japanese artist model, commemorating B'z's 30th anniversary.
A limited edition of only 150 guitars worldwide.
It boasts a unique, commanding presence with its Canary Yellow finish—reminiscent of Ferrari yellow and inherited from the original—paired with black binding and an abalone inlay on the fingerboard.
As a 2018 Gibson Custom Shop creation, it incorporates the latest specifications of the era: a spec tube-less truss rod, Custom Bucker pickups, and hide glue for wood joints.
The body back is Mahogany, the top is Maple.
Per Mr. Matsumoto's request, the Mahogany back employs a chambered structure, achieving both weight reduction and rich resonance.
The neck is Mahogany, the fingerboard is Rosewood.
The neck shape precisely replicates the profile of his personally owned 1959 Les Paul, digitally scanned for accuracy.
It is equipped with Gibson Custom Buckers.
Delivering dense midrange and the characteristic thick sustain of a Les Paul, while extending to a brilliant top end, the sound truly embodies the “Tak Matsumoto sound.”
This reissue of the historic 1999 model—which joined the ranks of global guitar heroes like Jimmy Page, Slash, and Ace Frehley as the fifth Gibson Signature model (sixth including Les Paul himself)—is an extremely rare collector's item.
A special guitar that reproduces the tone beloved by Tak Matsumoto, who performs on the world stage, with the highest quality from the Gibson Custom Shop.
This model is recommended not only for B'z fans but also for players seeking the highest quality Les Paul.
Approximately 80% of the frets remain.
The truss rod and neck condition are good.
The body and finish show signs of paint melting on the body top and headstock side.
