HEX Guitars is a South Korea-based brand specializing in entry-level to mid-range guitars.

They own their own factory in Indonesia and manufacture their guitars themselves. This sets them apart from brands that typically use OEM manufacturing.

Their passion for production, with the boss himself involved in the process, allows them to produce guitars of a surprisingly high quality for their price point.

The NT100 is an innovative model that develops upon the TL-style guitar design, featuring a headless construction.

The body is made of Indonesian Mahogany, the neck is Hard Maple, and the fingerboard is Indian Rosewood.

The scale length is 25.5 inches, the same as Fender Stratocasters and Telecasters.

It uses jumbo-sized stainless steel frets and has 22 frets, providing a wide tonal range.

The fingerboard radius is a compound radius of 12-15.75 inches.

This design, with rounded frets in the lower positions and flatter frets in the higher positions, effectively balances playability with a lack of fret buzz, and is adopted by high-end brands such as Suhr and Tom Anderson.

The stainless steel frets and compound radius work very well together, resulting in very smooth bending without buzzing.

The pickups are single-coil type with Alnico magnets. Aiming for a classic sound, it's designed to be easy to use across genres, from jazz to rock and neo-soul.

The balance in the hand is excellent, and even those who usually play Fenders will likely find the HEX difficult to play.

The clean sound, characteristic of a headless design, is very appealing, yet it doesn't lose musical harmonics or rich bass.

The high quality of the basic neck components results in excellent playability, and it's difficult to say that it's inferior to instruments in the 200,000 yen range.

Overall, it's a superb product with high quality in looks, playability, and sound.

While the headless design might deter some, we highly recommend you try playing this guitar in person.
