Description & Condition
Description & Condition
| Sword is a Japanese brand specializing in vintage-style guitars. Their meticulously crafted models, including the SST-1960, a faithful reproduction of a 1960s Stratocaster, and heavily reliced versions, enjoy enduring popularity in the used market. This particular guitar is an ST-type model based on a Stratocaster from the early 1960s. It features a lacquer finish. This finish is easy to apply thinly and doesn't hinder the wood's resonance. As you play it, the finish will settle in, and you can enjoy the aging process, such as weather checking and discoloration, which is unique to lacquer. The body color is a vibrant red reminiscent of 1960s custom colors. The mint-green pickguard and cream-colored hardware effectively capture the atmosphere of that era. The fretboard is rosewood, and the inlays are clay-like dots. The neck is maple, and the headstock is a small headstock, maintaining the 1960s style appearance. This guitar features three single-coil pickups. The lead wires are made of cloth-wrapped wire, the same material used in vintage guitars, giving it a high-quality feel. The potentiometers are reliable CTS brand. The volume and tone controls are smooth and responsive, making it easy to fine-tune the tone. The controls are a classic configuration of one volume, two tone controls, and a selector switch. The bridge is a vintage-style synchronized tremolo with steel saddles. The lacquer finish, combined with the vintage-spec pickups and wiring, results in a responsive single-coil sound. This is a recommended guitar for anyone looking for an authentic 60s-style ST-Type. Please give it a try. The frets have approximately 90% remaining. The truss rod and neck are in good condition. The body and paintwork have a dent on the lower part of the body top, and numerous linear scratches on the 6th string side and pickguard. The body sides have dents on the lower part of the 1st string side and the 6th string side, and paint peeling near the joint. There are scattered linear scratches on the back of the body. The neck joint was stuck and could not be removed. The electronics are in good condition. No obvious modifications were observed.
