| Yamaha has been a pillar of the Japanese guitar industry since its early days, essentially the Japanese equivalent of Gibson. While the company boasts many iconic models such as the SGV, SG, and BB, the Pacifica series is equally beloved. This particular model is a signature model of Mike Stern, one of the world's most renowned guitarists. Mike Stern is a master known for his unique guitar style, which blends jazz with elements of rock and blues. Beyond his own solo work, he has played in Miles Davis's band and also contributed to The Brecker Brothers, making him a leading figure in the jazz fusion scene. This guitar features practical specifications tailored to Mike Stern's playing style. Based on the simple and easy-to-handle Pacifica design, it offers high versatility to handle a wide range of genres. The body back is made of alder, the top is ash, and the neck is maple. It boasts a distinctive and cool look with its original body shape, headstock, and pickguard. The pickups are a GH-A1B in the neck position and a GHR-F1B in the bridge position. They produce a fat sound and a bright, edgy tone. The bridge features a modern design with six saddles. This allows for individual octave tuning of each string. The truss rod is stiff, but it has been confirmed to move about 90 degrees. The neck is in good condition. The body and paintwork have dents, scratches, cracks, paint discoloration, and tarnishing on the metal parts. There is a slight buzz in some places when played acoustically, but this does not affect the sound output from an amplifier. The electronics have a slight crackling sound in the tone knob. No clear modifications were observed.
